I ought to spend more time with Mel. Deep inside me, I know she is going to miss me badly and the period of time when I am away might just be the toughest time in her life. The two of us have developed feelings so deep that we have become dependent and indispensable to each other. It does hurt me to leave her here in Singapore as I am so used to her being by my side. As I try to imagine the days without her, I remember seeing somewhere these few words-Love never fails. They are actually taken from the bible. Though I am not a devoted Christian, I could affiliate myself with this:
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking.
It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
